Congelados de Navarra collaborates in research with the Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA)
Cardiovascular diseases, in all their forms, are the leading cause of death and hospitalisation in western countries, and particularly in Spain.
At Congelados de Navarra, we care about preventing disease and so are collaborating in research with the University of Navarra's Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA), as part of a project to look for circulating biomarkers of myocardial fibrosis in heart failure cases.
As Dr. González Miqueo explains, “this project aims to improve the treatment of myocardial fibrosis in patients suffering from heart failure.
The development of fibrosis is caused by an imbalance in the mechanisms for synthesizing and degrading collagen. This means that it is essential to discover more about the mechanisms involved, and identify non-invasive biomarkers which allow us to detect these alterations early and to personalise the management of treatment, as well as to facilitate follow-up for each patient.
Congelados de Navarra knows the benefits of including frozen vegetables in a person’s diet to prevent heart problems. We therefore restate our commitment to healthy eating and our dedication to preventing disease.
